In this course, we will learn the historical descriptions and the pathways to understanding the causes, treatment , and the prevention of diseases that killed untold millions over the centuries. We will focus on events of the 19th and 20th centuries to understand how scientific research, art and literature, and world history have been impacted by malaria, smallpox, measles, polio, tuberculosis, and influenza.
