Osher Instructor Orientation
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

If you are an instructor who is teaching for Osher in an upcoming term, or if you are considering submitting a proposal to teach a course, this orientation class is for you! In this orientation, Osher staff will cover all the ins and outs of running an Osher class. We will inform you of all policies and procedures for in-person and Zoom classes, including creating syllabi, sending and printing handouts, getting your enrollment numbers and class rosters, taking attendance, technology help in the classroom or on Zoom, class cancellations, scheduling makeup classes, and more. Learn specific ways to engage Osher members in classroom discussion as adult learners and adapt to the needs of those experiencing hearing loss and difficulties. If you are getting paid for your time, find out how to contact HR to join the payroll. And if you're a volunteer, thank you for your generosity, helping us keep Osher tuition fees low. We will let you know how to claim perks available to you as an associate instructor at the University of Utah. Welcome aboard!
