Ready to give your old clothes a new life? In this upcycling class, you'll learn how to transform and repair your wardrobe with creative techniques that help you reduce waste and express your personal style. Whether it's resizing, patching, or completely reimagining an outfit, this class will give you the basics to be bold in your re-invention of your piece. We'll begin by making sure your sewing machine is ready to go, and then dive into practical skills like adding darts, pockets, or adding flair. Bring in your projects, and let's turn something old into something new. Your wardrobe (and the environment) will thank you!

Class takes place at MAKE Salt Lake (663 W 100 S, SLC). **LLCFT 267 Beginning Sewing I is an excellent precursor to this class.** Students provide their own sewing machine and most of their own supplies; find the list online. Special fee is for shared supplies and studio rental. We hate canceling classes, but sometimes there are forces outside of our control. Please keep this in mind as you purchase supplies and hang onto your receipts. Students can expect to carry their machines for about a 5 minute walk to the classroom. Students are welcome to bring snacks/drinks to class. Email our office at lifelong@continue.utah.edu to inquire about the status of a class. Special fee is for shared supplies and studio rental. **MAKE members receive a 10% tuition discount. If you are a MAKE Salt Lake member, please call us at (801) 587-5433 to enroll.**
