Many of us know someone who has experienced breast cancer. Medical prostheses can be hot, uncomfortable, and expensive for survivors and patients. In this heartfelt class, you'll learn to knit alternative prostheses using the Magic Loop method as you refine your skills in shaping and stuffing your knitwork and gain tips for creating smooth, comfortable finishes. The completed "knockers" are lightweight, comfortable, and easily washable. Knit them for someone you love, or donate to someone who needs one or a pair - instructor will provide donation information. This class is suitable for knitters of all levels, from adventurous beginners to seasoned pros.

This class takes place in person at the University Connected Learning and Continuing Education building (540 Arapeen Drive, SLC). Students should supply their own knitting needles: circular and double point, stitch markers, and tapestry needles. We hate canceling classes, but sometimes there are forces outside of our control. Please keep this in mind as you purchase supplies and hang onto your receipt. Email our office at lifelong@continue.utah.edu to inquire about the status of a class. Special fee is for yarn. Instructor may have extra knitting needles to borrow upon request.
