Freediving: An Introduction

Imagine gliding next to a sea turtle with minimal equipment and maximum confidence. Freediving is an accessible alternative to scuba diving that is also fun and exciting. Join us to develop the basic skills and breathhold techniques that allow you to explore the underwater world with just a mask and fins. Best of all, freediving is open to a wide range of fitness levels so just about anyone can learn the skills to explore the world from this unique viewpoint.

Class Sections For Freediving: An Introduction (LLREC 944)
Fall 2025 Section 1, Starting on: 11/05/2025
This class is taught in person at the University Connected Learning and Continuing Education building (540 Arapeen Drive, SLC) and at Dive Utah (4679 S 2225 E, Holladay) on Saturdays. Please bring a secure bathing suit and change of clothes on pool days. Special fee is for equipment and pool rental. Students must have strong swimming skills but no experience with snorkeling or freediving is required. Students are required to fill out a waiver and health forms, provided before class. Students may be eligible for freediving certification after course completion, more information provided in class.
