Course Description
Despite its arid climate, Utah offers some of the most beautiful, fun, and challenging whitewater in the country. Join your instructor--a seasoned long-distance paddler, kayak guide, and self-proclaimed river rat--for an introduction to whitewater paddling. You'll learn the proper equipment to bring on the river and how to prepare for a successful float. You'll also learn about the common hazards found on moving water and how to avoid them. Lastly, you'll be taught basic safety techniques and what to do if your boat (or a fellow paddler's) overturns on the water.
