True Stories and Fables of the Old West
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

This course explores true stories and fables of the westward expansion. We will tell tales of travel on the plains, along with stories and fables of Native Indian Tribes and their famous Chiefs. We will revisit the stories of outlaws and the famous lawman that tamed them. We will contrast stories of the gold rush and boom towns that grew up with the ghost towns stories that survive today. We will share excerpts from many journals and diaries of the old west. Join us as we share fascinating stories and pictures of the old west!
