Utah Opera Preview: Verdi's "La traviata"
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

Utah Opera's preview class will provide insights into the story and the music, as well as the production history of Verdi's "La traviata." We will also present fascinating information about Utah Opera's production and its cast. Interested class members can linger after the hour-long class session to observe a rehearsal on-site. Presented through University of Utah Osher Lifelong Learning Institute by Opera Education Manager Kevin Nakatani and Principal Coach Deborah Rober. It's a timeless tale of love, sacrifice, and heartbreak. Verdi's "La traviata" takes you deep into the world of Violetta, a glamorous Parisian courtesan who falls for the charming Alfredo. Their passionate romance is tragically challenged by social expectations and personal sacrifice, proving that not all love stories have a happy ending--but they're unforgettable stories all the same. "La traviata" has everything opera lovers crave--fiery emotions, gorgeous arias, and a plot that pulls at your heartstrings.
