Lipreading, also known as speechreading, can boost spoken language comprehension for those with hearing loss. A common misconception about reading lips is that it’s lip shapes only. This is not true; it’s a combination of strategies. The first two weeks of this course will focus on setting the stage for lipreading, nonverbal cues, and using logic. The next three weeks we will work with the visible lip shapes while building strategies and self advocacy.
