Prairie Fire were the TOP SECRET intelligence gathering operations in Laos using Army Green Beret leaders with local mercenary soldiers. In addition, these special units performed Search & Rescue missions to recover downed pilots and crews. Instructor Frank "Fuzzy" Furr was part of these operations as the Covey Forward Air Controller (FAC) supporting the Insertion and extraction of these teams. These top-secret joint special operations units provided vital intelligence of North Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh trail activities and conducted unconventional missions in Southeast Asia.
