Interested in teaching for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute or showcasing your organization with an Osher Special Event or Lunch and Learn presentation?
Opportunities for teaching include courses, one-time lectures, or Lunch and Learn presentations, (which can then lead to a full course at a later time), and Special Events.
Osher Offers Classes During Four Terms per Year:
Fall ~ mid-September-October ~ Course proposal deadline May 1
Winter ~ mid-January-February ~ Course proposal deadline October 1
Spring ~ Late March- early May ~ Course proposal deadline December 1
Summer ~ Late May- end of June ~ Course proposal deadline March 1
These lectures are generally 1 hour in length and are currently scheduled on Wednesdays at the noon hour leading up to and during the term. These lectures are a wonderful way to share your expertise and knowledge with the Osher community in a short, focused engagement.
Special events are group field trips to places of interest along the Wasatch front. Osher members are very interested in what is happening in the community. This program provides an opportunity to showcase your organization and build awareness by interacting with Osher members "on site."
The events are also wonderful opportunities for Osher members to stay informed and to connect with others, both very important elements for successful aging. Events are scheduled at the convenience of the host organization before and after the term.
Bernard Osher set up the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute to be member-led and volunteer-driven. We appreciate suggestions of topics of interest to you for future courses and special event tours, locations, and venues. We especially appreciate recommendations of qualified instructors who could teach your topic idea for us in future terms. Thank you for your participation and support!
