Osher Special Events provide a way for members to learn about our surrounding community and to stay connected when classes are not in session. Four Osher Special Events are included in the basic membership per term. RSVP's are required, and can be done by selecting your desired event below.

In-Person Event: Second Summit Hard Cider and Pickleball Lesson

Two things you wouldn't expect to see in the same sentence are hard cider and pickleball, but Second Summit Hard Cider and Pickleball did just that when they opened in 2023. In addition to their ever changing list of hard ciders, they have four regulation pickleball courts and is willing to offer Osher members a free lesson. Pickleball is now the fastest growing sport in the US because its very inclusive, doesn't require a lot of running or strong athletic skills. The player uses a paddle or racket to hit a ball over the net before he can bounce twice. Pickleball was first organized in Washington State in 1965, then the US Amateur Pickleball Association was founded in 1984. Second Summit will provide as many pickleball coaches as needed to provide the free lesson to those in attendance. Stay to enjoy food and cider, available for purchase, and/or sign up for Second Summit's regularly scheduled events like bingo and arts and crafts. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, April 8
