Volunteer Training for Osher Ambassador Greeters & Class Assistants

Do you love Osher and want to give back to this wonderful program by serving as a volunteer? We would love to have you! We are currently seeking volunteers to serve as Osher Ambassadors to help greet and direct people at our building's entrances during Osher's first week of classes, Monday September 21 to Friday September 24. We are also seeking Classroom Assistants to serve throughout fall term in classes where they are already enrolled.

Classroom Assistants help instructors by taking roll in classes, encouraging fellow Osher members to use our whiteboard name tents so we can all get to know each other, and reading a few announcements each week about five minutes before class begins from our weekly email newsletters.

Greeters welcome and say hello to Osher members as they enter our building, hand out our purple parking passes, and help everyone find their classroom locations. Greeters also remind and show people where the Osher Lounge is located for complimentary morning coffee and tea service.

As many of you know, having a friendly face greet you on your first day of classes goes a LONG way, especially for folks new to our program. This is a low effort but high impact and fun way to get involved. You can sign up to help at as many or as few classes as your schedule allows. Join us in this fun, free training session to learn more about the tasks of both of these Osher Ambassador volunteer roles, Greeters and Class Assistants.
