Osher Special Events provide a way for members to learn about our surrounding community and to stay connected when classes are not in session. Four Osher Special Events are included in the basic membership per term. RSVP's are required, and can be done by selecting your desired event below.

Utah Opera Company

See behind the scenes of an opera production by taking a walking tour of the Utah Opera production studios while the company is in staging rehearsals for its production of La Boheme - the same opera produced by Utah Opera Company when it opened 40 years ago. Participants will get to observe Utah Opera's active Costume Shop, Costume Rentals area, Scenic Shop and storage, as well as its Assembly Bay. Those who take the tour will see people working a variety of careers int he arts and learn what it takes to maintain a thriving arts organization. Participants are invited to extend their experience beyond the one-hour tour by lingering and watching a staging rehearsal in the Rehearsal Hall for 15-30 minutes (they can leave at their own volition). Note: This is a walking and standing tour.
