Osher Special Events provide a way for members to learn about our surrounding community and to stay connected when classes are not in session. Four Osher Special Events are included in the basic membership per term. RSVP's are required, and can be done by selecting your desired event below.

Spectrum Studios

Glass artist Dan Cummings has been running Spectrum Studios since 1994. In this South Salt Lake space, each artist has an area in which to work on individual projects, but the majority of the warehouse space is used as a common area. This invites the collaboration that makes Spectrum vibrant. The artists, working in metal, glass and other materials, can come together to tackle large projects such as an artistic installation for a public art space or a more industrial endeavor like the giant lens for a space telescope in Germany. Our hosts will demonstrate glass making, display kiln techniques, explain types of glass and procedures, answer questions and much more. We will be able to see their amazing pieces and place orders for special personal work you may want to consider purchasing.
