The Utah Center for Assistive Technology (UCAT) is a state-funded resource center serving the citizens of Utah. UCAT helps people with disabilities by identifying and obtaining assistive technology that will improve their quality of life. They do free evaluations and, when necessary, creates and modifies devices in its in-house workshop. Occupational and recreational therapists ensure a device will fit the client's needs. UCAT also provides training in the use of various technology. Their loan bank of augmentative communication devices and computers enable clients to test out the devices before purchasing. UCAT also works with clients to find funding sources for client devices. Come learn about assistive technology devices and services and see a demonstration of various technology devices, including a smart pen, Alexa and a device to amplify voice.
