Course Description
This online, self-paced Healthcare IT Certificate Program provides the skills necessary to understand critical software programs that handle healthcare information. The course includes 582 hours of curriculum. Healthcare Information professionals can be found working all across healthcare, and as healthcare's use of technology increases the demand for these professionals will rise as well. Healthcare information technicians help support the use of technology in the healthcare setting. Their specific responsibilities vary by position and may include: Installing and maintaining electronic health record systems; Working as part of an internal IT team; Providing technical support to employees throughout a healthcare facility. Graduates of this online program prepares students to earn CompTIA A+, Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS), and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) credentials. Tuition includes vouchers to take these exams ($570) value. Those who complete this program will also receive a University of Utah Healthcare Information Technician certificate.
