We're living in a board game renaissance! The game options available to players today are unlimited-- strategy, party, war, engine-building, trick-taking, deck-building--the list goes on and on. But what do those terms even mean and which will you (and your family and friends) enjoy? This course is an exploration of the variety that exists in modern board gaming. Each class you'll learn and play a new board game that exemplifies a different style of game. Along with the featured game, you'll be given a list of games with similar mechanics to broaden your knowledge and provide you with more games to explore. You can expect to leave with new social connections, knowledge of new games you can play with your family and friends, and an appreciation for modern board game design.
