Beginning Bicycle Maintenance I
Lifelong Learning

This course is designed with the beginning hobbyist or mechanic in mind and will cover basic maintenance, from repairing a flat tire to tightening your headset. We'll discuss using tubes versus going tubeless, the correct tire pressure to run on your bike, and how to set up your bike to make riding as safe and comfortable as possible. We'll also cover derailleur indexing and tips to keep your bike shifting perfectly. Finally, we'll discuss emergency trailside maintenance, the best tools to carry for trailside repairs, and different strategies to get your bike home if something breaks on the trail.

This class will have demonstrations, please do not bring your own bike. This class takes place in person at the University Connected Learning and Continuing Education building (540 Arapeen Drive, SLC).
