Comic Book Art (Age 10-15)
Youth Education

In this hands-on camp, students explore the full creative process of making a comic, from developing a story to creating finished illustrations. Using both industry-inspired and contemporary techniques, students will learn how artists plan, draw, ink, and color comics while developing their own visual style. Each student will complete a comic spread and receive a printed pamphlet featuring all students' work. Students will also have the opportunity to display their comic in an exhibition at the Department of Art & Art History at the end of the summer. Co-Sponsored with the Department of Art and Art History.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Create an original visual narrative in sequence
  • Learn the process of developing a sequential illustration
  • Learn traditional B/W penciling and inking techniques
