Salty Science (Age 9-11)
Youth Education

Stay salty this summer in this field-based science camp! From birding in Farmington Bay to swimming at Antelope Island, each day we will go on an outdoor field trip to explore the Great Salt Lake ecosystem. Along the way, we will practice science and art to learn about migratory birds, water quality, geology, and environmental stewardship. Co-sponsored with FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake.

Learning Objectives:
  • Campers will use scientific practices to investigate and understand the natural phenomenon of Great Salt Lake's ecosystem.
  • Campers will understand the basic dynamics of the Great Salt Lake watershed and how upstream water consumption affects the ecosystem.
  • Campers will gain appreciation for Great Salt Lake and a sense of responsibility to protect it.
