Art for Video Games (Age 14-17)

From concepts, environments, and characters to visual effects and user interface, video games rely on a wide array of artists with diverse skills. Students will learn the ins and outs of video game artwork, including best practices and asset pipelines. Students will leave with a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses and how these insights can help them discover a future profession. Co-sponsored with Utah Division of Games.

Learning Objectives:
  • Explore core components of video game art, including characters, environments, and visual effects
  • Understand industry best practices and asset pipelines used in game development
  • Identify personal artistic strengths to inform potential future creative pathways
