Before mise-en-place, before a discerning palette, before mastering the perfect French omelette, souffle, or croissant, there is one set of skills that will allow any cook to more efficiently and safely tackle the joy, the chore, and the art of cooking: knife skills. Increase your joy and decrease your time in the kitchen and learn safety, care, technique, and which knife to use for which job, all while creating beautiful salads and dishes to enjoy.

Class Sections For Knife Skills (LLFW 238)

Fall 2025 Section 1, Starting on: 10/18/2025

This class takes place at the U of U Foods Lab (250 1850 E, Salt Lake City). Special fee is for ingredients and space rental. Please alert lifelong@utah.edu at least 1 week before class if you have any food allergies. Students will receive parking information and directions one week before class.
