Urban Art - The Street Art Project: Stencils, Style & Spraypaint (Age 14-17)

This five day introductory course to urban arts will explore various forms of street art techniques, styles, legendary urban artists, and their impact on today's culture. SLC local artist Dave Simon will work with students to develop their own personal style, street artist persona, and learn basic techniques to create their own original artworks using stencils, stickers, markers, wheat paste, aerosol paints, and other tools of the trade. Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore various forms & styles of street art through hands-on application and develop understanding of ethics related to street art.
  • Study street art history from around the world and explore contemporary street artists and their work
  • Learn visual problem solving skills through the use of street art tools

Due to high material costs (spray paint, respirators, filters et. al.) the special fees for this class have been adjusted accordingly. Reminder emails will be sent out before camp begins and will include location notes and other details.
