Mad about Math: Intro to Algebra (Age 12-13)

Dive into Algebra with exciting activities and games! Strengthen your fundamental math skills while you expand your knowledge to algebraic concepts such as polynomials, solving two-step equations, and graphing lines with slopes and intercepts. Review and use positive and negative numbers in all kinds of math applications. Create art, play dice and card games, have a blast with physical activities like data collection, and use math to break out of an escape room! This class will review the key ideas needed to take your math to the next level.
Learning Outcomes:
- Apply math concepts to fun and interesting problems
- Develop interpersonal skills while collaborating on math projects and games
- Demonstrate the use of algebra through games and tasks
