Strength Training: An Introduction

Are you interested in improving your health while building a warm and welcoming community? Join us for an introduction to strength training! Defined as any exercise that requires you to move an external weight, strength training protects your muscle and joint tissue, improves balance, helps with hormone regulation and mental clarity, and improves your bone density. You'll start at the beginning, learning the basics via lecture and discussion. As the course progresses, you will incorporate increasing levels of movement and gain the knowledge you need to build a safe and effective training plan that is personal to you. This type of exercise is for everyone-all body types, abilities, and backgrounds-so join us and start your unique strength training journey today!

Class Sections For Strength Training: An Introduction (LLREC 936)

Spring 2025 Section 1, Starting on: 01/18/2025

This class occurs at The Bouldering Project (660 S 400 W Suite 600, SLC) in the Granary neighborhood. Please wear comfortable clothes. Special fee is for space and equipment rental. Students can utilize the entire gym on class days, including the fitness studio, sauna, and locker room facilities. Students may access bouldering facilities after completing a safety orientation. An optional orientation and gym tour are offered after the first class session.
